The Rensselaer County wreck happened at around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, May 11, on State Route 67 in Pittstown.
New York State Police said a disabled vehicle was stopped in the eastbound lane after several people moved it from the shoulder, when a motorcycle heading eastbound crashed into it.
Matthew Disorda, age 28, of Hoosick Falls, was ejected from the bike and died at the scene, police said.
The collision pushed the disabled vehicle into its owner, who was standing outside the car. They were airlifted to Albany Medical Center and remain in critical but stable condition.
State Police said the crash is under investigation.
Disorda leaves behind a 3-year-old son, his aunt Tabatha Marsha Reed said on Facebook.
“Matthew was a special young man to me and I feel honored to call him my nephew,” she said. “He lived life to the fullest and every day as if it was his last. He had a hard shell but a very kind heart and if he called you a friend you know he meant for life.”
A GoFundMe campaign to help his family with funeral expenses, and to help his son, has raised over $1,000.
